Patient Safety Assessment

Learning Objectives
Perform a structured patient safety assessment for mechanically ventilated pediatric patients
Assess airway stability, endotracheal tube positioning, and cuff management to reduce ventilator‑associated harm
Identify and prevent device‑related skin and mucosal injury in intubated and tracheostomized patients
Evaluate patient–ventilator synchrony using bedside observation and waveform analysis
Ensure availability and readiness of emergency airway and ventilation equipment
