Emily Goodwin is an academic pediatrician in the Beacon Program, a medical home for children with medical complexity and their siblings at Children’s Mercy Kansas City. She completed her residency training at Cincinnati Childrens. She currently serves as Associate Director for Medical Student Education at Children’s Mercy and is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine. She directs the patient-and family-centered care curriculum for residents and education programs through the Beacon Program. She is Co-Chair of the Academic Pediatric Association Complex Care and Disability Special Interest Group. She is passionate about caring for children with medical complexity and their siblings and education for medical teams and patients and families.
