Introduction to Cardioversion

Learning Objectives
Describe the physiologic basis of synchronized cardioversion and distinguish it from defibrillation
Identify appropriate indications and contraindications for pediatric cardioversion based on rhythm and hemodynamic stability
Apply a structured patient assessment to determine urgency and setting for cardioversion in children
Demonstrate correct equipment selection, pad placement, synchronization, and energy dosing for safe pediatric cardioversion
Evaluate potential complications of cardioversion and document the procedure appropriately
