Capnography as a Clinical Tool

Learning Objectives
Identify essential capnography equipment and monitoring modalities used to confirm correct endotracheal tube placement during intubation.
Explain how time-based capnography reflects ventilation–perfusion relationships relevant to confirming and maintaining effective endotracheal intubation.
Apply appropriate setup and integration of capnography devices into an intubation circuit to verify tube placement and detect circuit disruption in real time.
Analyze capnography waveforms and end-tidal CO₂ trends to differentiate correct endotracheal intubation from malposition or loss of airway integrity.
