Kaitlyn Order, MD

Dr. Kaitlyn Order is a Fellow in Pediatric Nephrology at Boston Children's Hospital. Her academic interests include improving outcomes for patients with Chronic and End Stage Kidney Disease and developing innovative methods for education of both patients and other clinicians.

Dr. Order led a multidisciplinary group of professionals including dialysis nurses, physicians, educators and families to develop engaging content that incorporates the best practices in dialysis delivery, adult learning theory and multimedia design. She aimed to create relevant and realistic interactive experiences to mimic the home environment enabling patients and caregivers to be better prepared for delivering peritoneal dialysis at home. She conducted extensive testing to optimize usability and knowledge transfer. Dr. Order is investigating the effectiveness of this learning tool to improve patient and caregiver knowledge.
