OPENPediatrics Participates in Open Education Week

The Open Education Consortium's annual Open Education Week begins today and runs from March 9 through March 13. This year's events focus on the theme, The World Wants to Learn. Open Education Week is designed to highlight open education efforts from around the world, and creates awareness of these efforts so that a range of audiences can gain an understanding of the importance of open education practices.

This is the 4th Annual Open Education Week, coordinated by the Open Education Consortium, and it will feature events and showcase projects, resources, and ideas from around the world that demonstrate best practices in open education. "Open Education plays an increasingly important role in the future of education around the world," said Mary Lou Forward, Executive Director of the Open Education Consortium. "Faculty are looking for better ways to engage their students, learners are looking for just-in-time support for their studies, individuals are looking for educational opportunities to support their careers, and educational systems are looking for increased efficiency and efficacy. Open Education plays a role in all of these goals."

OPENPediatrics is proud to be participating in this years Open Education Week events. On Tuesday, March 10, the Director of Operations at OPENPediatrics, Steve Carson, will be leading a webinar where he will walk through and demonstrate the OPENPediatrics site and then hold a Q&A about the role of Open Education in the medical field. The webinar will begin at 11:00AM EST, and participants can sign up by emailing stephen.carson@childrens.harvard.edu.

Please check the OEW website throughout the week for the latest information on events and join in on some of the events to help make the 4th annual Open Education Week a success.
