The Role of Critical Care for Children with Special Healthcare Needs by Dr. Robert Graham

In this video, Dr. Robert Graham, Senior Associate in Critical Care Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital, and Associate Professor, Harvard Medical School, describes the patient population of children with chronic illness, explores the current literature on treating these patients in the ICU, and suggests several best-practices for Critical Care providers managing patients with a chronic critical illness.

  • Describe and identify children with special health needs (CSHCN), disabilities and/or chronic illness in the ICU
  • Interpret the current literature/data on management and outcomes of children with special health care needs
