May 2020 Physician WSP: International PICU COVID-19 Collaborative

This Physician World Shared Practice Forum will debut May 26, 2020, at 12 pm EST.

This special version of the World Shared Practice Forum features speakers from the International PICU COVID-19 Collaborative meeting hosted by Dr. Jeffrey Burns on April 1, 2020. This is a cutting-edge worldwide online collaboration in which the latest knowledge and best practices relating to COVID-19 are shared among front-line clinicians in real-time. In this session, Dr. Dan Barouch, Dr. Trevor Duke, and Dr. Robinder Khemani outline vaccine developments, advice for use of oxygen therapy in low-resource settings, and guidelines on mechanical ventilation in the PICU. 

 

Jeffrey Burns, MD, MPH is Chief and Shapiro Chair of Critical Care Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital, Program Co-Director of OPENPediatrics and Professor of Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School.

Dan Barouch, MD, MPH is Director of the Center for Virology and Vaccine Research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, and a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

Trevor Duke, MD is Clinical Director of the General Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, and a Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Melbourne.

Robinder Khemani, MD, MsCI is Associate Director of Research for the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, California, and Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Keck School of Medicine.
