Nursing WSPF: Pediatric Palliative Care Transport - Bringing Children Home from the Hospital for End of Life Care

Join us for the next Nursing World Shared Practice Forum on March 15, 2016. 

In this video, Harriett Nelson, MSN, RN, CCRN, NREMTP, will discuss her work in Pediatric Palliative Care Transport for critically or terminally ill children. She will share her experiences on the Palliative Care Transport Team. She will also explain findings from her research in working with parents who decided to bring their children home from the ICU before his/her death.

  • Describe how and why the Pediatric Palliative Transport Team was developed
  • Explain the teams involved in the Palliative Care Transport process
  • Explain how bringing children home before death is beneficial to the patient and his/her family
  • Explain Harriett Nelson's research in working with parents who decided to bring their child home from the ICU at the end of his/her life
