January 2019 Nursing WSP: Chlorhexidine Usage in the Infant Population: Is It Safe?

This month the Nursing World Shared Practice Forum will be led by Celeste Chandonnet, BNS, RN, CCRN-K, CIC. In this video, In this video, Ms. Chandonnet, Infection Preventionist at Boston Children's Hospital, discusses her research on whether Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) should be used in infants less than 2 months of age. She discusses why she decided to pursue this topic of study, explains how the study was conducted, and the results.

  • Describes the steps taken in conducting research on the use of CHG in the infant population
