An error in care. You are about to walk in and disclose it. Bringing such bad news is stressful. Handling it well is critical for your patient’s experience, your own resilience, and your institution, too. You can prepare for and conduct these conversations better with training. Led by Harvard Medical School experts in bioethics and communication, this Disclosure and Apology course introduces validated tools, skills, ethical underpinnings, and best practices to help you understand and manage these difficult conversations with greater confidence. It is also valuable learning for anyone working to implement disclosure policies and processes within their institution.

This 2-hour online workshop will be led by two renowned faculty experts in communication on disclosure and apology:

  • Stephen D. Brown, MD, Director, Institute for Professionalism & Ethical Practice, Boston Children’s Hospital; Associate Professor of Radiology, Harvard Medical School; Chair of the Professionalism Committee of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
