The objective of this course is to build a knowledge base for nursing staff in the cardiology clinic. Upon completion nurse should have an understanding of basic congenital heart disease, arrhythmias and the management of both in the cardiology clinic. This is a supplement to orientation. 

Learning Objectives

  • Describe normal cardiac anatomy and physiology both in fetal development and post-natally
  • Review common presentations of congenital heart disease, including the anatomical features, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management
  • Recognize common arrhythmias and management approach in both medical and surgical pediatric cardiac patients
